Timetable for childhood checks and Immunisations

10 - 14 days
(or when discharged by midwife)

Health Visitor will visit and plan future health visiting support with you and address any concerns you may have. The immunisation programme is discussed, too.

6 - 8 weeks
2 months

Postnatal check and baby six week health check.
The 1st immunisations (DTaP/IPV/Hib and PCV) given by practice nurse.

8 - 12 weeks

Health Visitor will visit and undertake a post-natal depression screen. 

3 months

2nd immunisation (DTaP/IPV/Hib and MenC) given by practice nurse.

4 months

3rd immunisation (DTaP/IPV/Hib, MenC and PCV) given by practice nurse.

12 months

Hib/MenC immunisation given by practice nurse.
Health Visitor will undertake a family health assessment.

13 months

MMR and PCV given by practice nurse.

~4 years

Pre-school immunisation (dTaP/IPV or DTaP/IPV and MMR).

13 to 18 years

Diphtheria, tetanus, polio (Td/IPV) booster.

Key to abbreviations:
DTaP/IPV/Hib - Diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio and Haemophilus influenzae type b
PCV - Pneumococcal conjugate vaccine
MenC - Meningitis C
MMR - Measles, mumps and rubella (German measles)
